Demystifying Italian Wines

April 06, 2019

Demystifying Italian Wines is an interactive wine class in collaboration with The Expat Sommelier last April 6, 2019 held at Estate Wine’s own Tasting Room. Attendees were able to taste five amazing Italian wines and delved into the terroir, classification, grape varieties, and culture of five different Italian regions. Che bello!

The class featured a renowned Italian sparkling: NV Prosecco, Treviso, Brut Spumante, Masottina, two Italian whites: 2016 Soave Classico, Monte del Fra from Veneto and the 2016 Munir, Catarratto, Valdibella from Sicily, and two Italian reds: 2015 Berry Bros. & Rudd, The Wine Merchant’s Range, Chianti from Tuscany and the 2014 Barolo Serralunga d’Alba, Giovanni Rosso from Piedmont. All of which were great representations of the common grape varieties as well as the various wine regions in Italy.

The Expat Sommelier, Inge Zwick, is a certified sommelier by the Guild of Sommeliers with over 15 years’ experience in the wine industry all over Europe, Middle East, and Asia. You may follow her wine journey and reach out to her through Instagram: @theexpatsommelier
